Turner Construction & ISU CIRAS will host its 2nd Construction Diversity Accelerator (CDA) program in person for the 2023 season. 

For the last 50 years, Turner has engaged minority-owned, women-owned, and other underrepresented construction-related businesses in a learning program focused on sharing tools, resources, and opportunities for business growth and expansion. 

This is at NO CHARGE to participants. 

Classes: Monday from 5:00-7:30 PM from October 2 - November 13, 2023 

Location: BioVentures Center in Coralville. 

Attendees will be selected through an application process. Attendees will be announced on September 18 and contacted directly with more information. Each applying company can bring 2 attendees. Applicants need to commit to a minimum of 5 of the 6 classes. Applications close on September 15.

 Class topics include:

• Oct 2: Preconstruction – estimating, plan reading, bidding •

 Oct 9: Procurement – vendor prequalification, contracts, insurance 

• Oct 16: Engineering – RFIs, submittals, change management; Payment Applications – schedule of values, lien waivers, sworn statements, Textura, APP 

• Oct 23: Scheduling – pull planning, manpower, sequencing, trade coordination

 • Nov 6: Safety/Lean – logistics, Building LIFE, 5S, PTP, JHA 

• Nov 13: Business Development/Graduation/Panel with Key Leaders – networking, pursuits, UBE Certification
